Swimrun Gear: ARK Sports Carbon Blades
Swimrun brand, ARK Sports have taken several years to develop the ARK Carbon Blades. The paddles are lighter than conventional paddles and most swimrunners will see a performance increase. The paddles are razor thin, entering the water more easily than plastic paddles. Despite their massive size, carbon paddles reportedly are not more difficult to use than plastic paddles. Although athletes should train incrementally so as not to cause injury.
ARK’s CEO’ Helen is approximately 40 seconds per 1km quicker with ARK Carbon Blades (which is 4 seconds per 100m). Small gains which add up over the long distance.
